Default VE Stereo System Upgrade... Probably been asked

This question has more than likely been asked but I'm not sure exactly what to search for, so thought this would be easier...

How do you go about setting up a sub / amp system in the VE SV6 using the standard head deck?

I've heard you need to get some RCA conversion? I just can't think of the name of it... How much would this cost and could someone like Autobarn take care of all this?

Also saw a special in JB-Hifi today for $298 for a "1200 Watt Sub and Amp Pack". 820Watt Bridged Amp, Variable LPF, 1200w Sub, Box to suit. (99303/95500)
This any good for the price? I don't want massive "doof-doof, annoy your neighbours". I just want good quality in the car, I rarely have my windows down.
Also, what kind of price do you think I'd be looking at for someone like Autobarn etc to fit it all for me, as I don't have the balls to pull my VE apart.

    There are a few ways

    LOC (line output converter)
Amp with speaker level inputs - second best option.
Signal/Sound Processor - The most expensive way but all amps connect to it and it cleans up any distortion or messy signals from the stock headunit.

If your upgrading speakers amps subs etc it would be a good idea to dynamat your doors and boot to reduce rattle and give you a better sounding signal.

    Thanks Hux.
The LOC, how much do they normally go for? And as mentioned, can a Audio Shop supply this?
I would be upgrading the speakers also, so as for the Dynamat do Audio Shops carry this also and how much would it cost?

It depends with an LOC. They range between $10 - to $700 from what I've seen. Audiocontrol make good LOC's from what I've heard Welcome. Most audio shops carry dynamat or some sort of deadener/damper, not sure on price so you'll have to ring around.

I've had this installer send me some audio gear from QLD so you could give him a call and see what he recomends. Alex Minassian Car Audio, Leading Brisbane Specialist
