audio problem

hey guys i just put in a new sound system in my vt and i have the following problem, when i crank up the volume the audio cuts out and you just hear the sub still pumping away in the back but the speakers cut out, any ideas guys????

Are you running your speakers off an amp? If so, sounds like the gain could be too high, when you crank the volume the speakers are being sent a clipped signal, and the amp is going into protect. Just a stab in the dark

But yeah, need more details. What model headunit/amps/speakers/subs and how is it all configured?

could possibly b ur alternator (regulator) not keeping up also, usually if amps drop below 11V they can cut out which could b y just ur sub is still going. (assuming u have a dedicated amp also?)
