Depends what music you listen to most.

10's are good for rock etc. short kicky bass/kick drums.

12's are good all rounders, good for dance/house.

15's are good for RnB, Dub, long rolling low freq's.

Output would be barely noticeable in a commodore.

That's not really true but people like to post it on forums

You can make a 10" sound deep and you can make a 15" sound 'punchy', it's mostly determined by the box.

Those tube subs will make bass, but not heaps. Depends how much bass you want.

Could you not make a 15 work more efficiently at lower freq's and vice versa?

You can port tune a box to make a sub louder at a certain frequency etc. Theoretically it all depends on the specifications of the box and the specifications of the woofer. You can use several computer programs to map how a subwoofer will perform theoretically, based on specifications, but when in a car the acoustics change and become even more complicated.

I'm with stone, all comes down to the box the subwoofer is in.

    Also, yes they are shit.

short answer man yes they are shit fusion has gone waay downhill, but i love 10's they are good for all music and yu tend not to get that vibrating bootlid that most p platers get
cos they have less cone to travel thru....kicker comp 10" are decent for the money otherwise alpine s series are good too, if yur game on spendin a lil more jl audio or alpine r's all make a quality 10"

For under $200 they are good. Had one in my old Land Rover. Sure you are still getting what you pay for, but I'm not too sure what people expect for a couple of hundred dollars.

I had 1 of those once. It was ok. It is noticible that you have a sub but its not gonna give you massive bass. I only had an aftermarket hu and stock speakers so for me it kinda blended in well with the low end soundsystem i had going.

You don't get the vibrating because it's not as loud

Just thump rather than "drone" is just different bass in the music. You're basically using a 10" sub to reduce the amount of low frequency bass you get which causes rattles. That low bass is part of the music that you're now missing and is the best bass, in my opinion

My bro's gf has one in the boot of her VT. It isn't really loud or deep but it does fill out the sound range.
Now I may upset a few people in this part of the forum but there is such a thing as too much bass, it's
all about a proper mix. But tbh you're better off buying something that you have some headroom with.
I'd be looking at something like this over the fusion. JBL CS1214T 12" 1000W BASS TUBE LOADED SUBWOOFER ENCLOSURE BOX SUB BOXED CAR | eBay
You would have to buy an amp to suit but I'd be prepared for the outlay, and the 12 would give you better low range.

    ...
That's what the volume control is for

Personally, I want balanced sound for rock, pop, metal, etc but sometimes I want to turn the bass up so it's completely unbalanced (so the treble doesn't deafen me) for hip hop, drum n bass and other electronic forms of music. It's nice to feel the music pushing the air out of your chest sometimes

Oh yeah. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of chest crushing bass just not all the time. And with that being said I
don't even have a sub in my car :S it's loud enough for me most of the time but sometimes I do want the little extra push.
Hopefully have something sorted out by Christmas.

Same, since I've had my new car I've just put up with the crappy two 8" subs... Plus I don't want to turn another car into a rattle box.

I think the only extra speakers I'll be putting in would be a decent set of 8's in the parcel shelf.
But my amped JBL's are going to have to do the job for now.

Anyway to the original question, if you just want some extra fill it will be fine, if you want better punch, go for something bigger and more powerful
