hey guys i want to put some 6x9s in my parcel shelf but i already got 6s in my doors
just want to know if getting an amp is my nly option or is there somthing else
6x9s really are a bandaid for a poor front stage and sub stage.
Do you feel your sound system is lacking in some way? Not loud enough, not enough bass etc.?
More information goes a long way, what do you have installed, what headunit, speakers etc.?
yea i dont want to be pumpin out millions of watts just want it bit louder and bit more bass
soeakers are alpine SPS 610 240 watt peak 80 watt RMS
headunit is a alpine CDE 125 EBT 50 watt 4x AMP
Are the speakers just running off the headunit or are they amped?

Upgrading to a better set of speakers and an amp will help a lot more than installing 6x9s.
Yea just off the head unit
I only put the 6s in bout 3 weeks ago so dont really want to rip them out already
Amp them up man, the headunit would be lucky to be putting 15wrms through your speakers.
An amp would help the situation 10fold. Grab a 2 channel amp and get the front stage going a bit.
If you need more after that, chuck a sub in.

Aight sweet as ill give that a try cheers for they help lads
If they are poor quality speakers then amplifying them won't help, it will just make louder crappy sound.
They're a $180 a set alpines so they shouldn't be terrible.

Alpine speakers sound fine. Better than most of the other chain store brands out there. I think you're too harsh on that brand.
They are a coaxial speaker, I would go as far to say they are worse than stock.
Are the ones he has coaxial? They come in component and coaxial, if he has the component then they won't be utter sh*t.
but if we're talking about the coaxials then yeah, I see your point magoo.
