Hey guys,
I recently changed the battery in my VX only to find out that I didn't have the code for my stereo so I called up Newcastle City Holden and was told to come down with my rego papers etc as proof of ownership and they would have it for me within 5 minutes, so I gathered the papers and headed to town. I told the girl at the service desk the problem, she took my papers, typed a few things in the computer and said "here we go, that will be a $30 processing fee", "your joking, since when have dealers charged for this service", she proceeded to tell me that all Car Dealerships(holden and others) charge this.....
I not sure about other car companies but know for a fact that Kia and Ford don't charge a thing as i've had the same problem with my wifes Ford and Kia, have Holden really dropped to a level that they now charge people for 30 seconds of typing as well as being dishonest. As you would guess I didn't pay the $30 and was pretty angry that they didn't tell me this on the phone earlier. I wish a had two extra hands so I could give them 4 thumbs down.
If anyone out there can help me out on this it would be greatly appreciated as I know I wont get any help from the service desk at Newcastle City Holden.
