right so iv done abit of tiding up of the wiring (hid it under the carpet) im running two amps and two kenwood subs off a jvc head unit iv spliced the remote lead to run the two amps. one amp is constantly powered and if i take the remote lead from the one thats constantly on out the other amp powers up but either way im not gettin any sound from either amp i feel like iv tried everything in my knowledge iv checked the remote lead in the back of the head unit, both rca leadsiv tried a seperate remote turn on lead nothing i do seems to work iv checked the power and earth cables they are all workin as they should im just lost now everything was working fine before hand someone help
Its hard to say as it could be numerous things. I also am running two amps off the head unit. I am assuming one is a 4 channel for speakers and a mono block for the subs.
The remote wire will not cause you to loose sound. It will stop the amp from activating when the car is turned to acc. So if the amp lights up when the car is on it is not the remote wire. I would first check that you have 12v power to both amps from the battery and the fuse in the line is not blown, as well as checking the grounds. Then check the remote wire, if the amp is powering up whilst the car is on i would then check your speaker wires, just in case they have been crushed and are contacting each other. If this is all ok, check your RCA leads as in the past i have packed them too tightly under the back seat/carpet and have damaged them. Probably the easiest way i found to check this is pull the head unit out and run a new RCA lead from the headunit outside the car to the amp. If you have sound the RCA leads are damaged. If none of this works PM me and i will give you my number & might be able to help more. If you've figured it out, disregard the above lol.
