The front doors in my case as I'm about to install splits ran by a 2 channel amp. in a VY. Any tips?

Filling the service holes is a good start. This can be done with thin sheets of mdf. Any of the adhesive deadning materials (dynamatt ect) can be used on the door skin, also the inner skin. How much area you cover is up to you, and how much you want to spend. Put some sticky tape on bits like the door lock tabs and mechanisisms, it can stop them from rattling.
Fabricating some better pods to house the mids can help the sound along also. Someone here threw some diffuser panels behind the mids on their install, it's the first time i've seen them used in a car. Not sure about the benefits with them though being so close to the drivers, and the many possible reflection points in a door, but for the price you pay you might like to use them.
Thanks for the info. Service holes would be a start. Any other info anybody?
Did you read that article? Pretty much covers everything..
Making solid speaker baffles also helps, although is more of an advanced exercise.
Yep, all pretty much covered there. I used some vacuum line (rubber) as a sleeve for the door lock lines if that makes sense .. to stop them vibrating against the door trim etc

Sounds like a plan, may as well get it over and done with while it's off![]()
No it's current stock.
I should I have explained it, the inside of the panels is http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView...d&form=KEYWORD
whilst the inside of the doors is http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView...g&form=KEYWORD
It's not cardboard, it's 3.0mm thick foam/foil 'AX3689' and 'AX3680'
Did you research the Jaycar stuff first? I remember a few years back there was issues with it falling off after a while in the car.
wow alot neater than my job using that deadener :P
AmmoJammo, how have you found the Solavis? Is it as easy as working with and have the same deadening performance as Dynamat/Stinger Roadkill?
I'm quite liking it.
I've used dynamat before, none of the others though.
the Solavis has slightly better specs than the dynamat, in all aspects, because its slightly thicker.
I measured both, and it is thicker... but neither measured the thickness they actually claimed to be!
its just as flexible, and easy to apply as the dynamat, but the edges of the sheets aren't as neat, they get stuck in the box, and stick together as a result.
how come no one has queried the pics of my FORD Falcon being posted on a Commodore forum? lol
