hi all,
i have done frequent searching of VE sub installs using a line out converter, however i am still yet to find where to purchase one. i cant get one locally where i live.
im only going to be running a 12" sub and mono block.
so i assume that means i only need a 2ch LOC.
anyone who has done one of these installs able to point me to one i can buy online that they have used and know works well?
only for a sub setup.
thanks in advance,
Timmo
How much do you want to spend?
I used on of these in an install not long ago, i didn't buy or reccomend it the bloke allready had it, but so far no problems with it Sound Master Car Audio - ($149) AudioControl LC2i Two Channel Line Output Converter LC2I
You can get much cheaper (and of course more expensive) ones, depends on what your looking at spending, and what features you need.
If the amps not too old, alot of them have them built in
was thinking about $200 for the LOC.
only gonna be running a mono block off it, running 2 x 12 inch subs in the boot.
its a VE SSV, that has 8inch free air subs in the parcel shelf already and an amp next to the battery in the boot. would your reccomendation be to remove them and cover up the holes? or just unplug them and leave them and the factory amp in place.
thoughts/tips appreciated.
Thanks,
Timmo
Hey mate, I got my amp sub and capacitor installed yesterday from a professional and listening to my sub and from what he recommended is to remove them and cover the holes up

and on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcPwCRtOmzk (on a dyno tune)
so basically you can hear the old subs rattle in the parcel shelf when you have the stereo cranked

Take them out but put the grills back. Will let the bass through better.
I just bought my LOC from Jaycar.. was like $15, works great!
Then again, I dont know what difference it would be like having a $200+ loc installed, but from mine it sounds great.
The amp for the splits I just used the high-level inputs on the amp and that is great also.
