Hey guys, Im looking at building a system in my VY SV8, I've been outta car audio for a number of years,
and now I want something for Clarity rather than DB.
Does anyone have some suggestions on Brands and Models that would be worth starting to look @?

That's asking for a lot without much given. What are you after, head unit replacement, front speakers, rear, subwoofer/s, how many amps, will you install it, pay someone else, buy new / 2nd hand, pre-fab or custom, where you live, predicted budget?

Not much point in someone just saying that the top model from such and such are good if they end up being outside what you wanted to spend. Bit like asking someone what's a good car without mentioning anything else.

Hey yeah thats a good point!
I would like to put Splits in front and 6x9s in rear,
and then maybe 3x10" in the boot in sealed box..
I have an Eclipse cd5030 head unit at this stage, hoping to keep that..
and would be looking @ buying all new gear at this stage.. and nothing over top as far as custom install goes, just nice neat install..
Have been looking into the new Phoenix Gold Range of Gear Ti to be closer to the point..

Hope thats a help for some advice...
as far as $$ prolly round the 2k mark, No need to cover wiring I have all that covered for the car

Alright let's delve deeper here.
Why do you specifically want 3 10" subs? Why not 12"? Why 3? 3 may be difficult to wire up to the correct independence.
What is the reason you want 6x9s? Why do you need speakers in the rear, do you often have passengers? If needed, why not just a set of coaxials in the rear?

Nice headunit, 2k is a decent budget, pending the answers to the above questions we should be able to put together a nice list for you

Yeah Mate constantly have Passengers in Rear, and I thought going 6x9's to fill the factory spots and put factory Covers over them..
I listen to stuff like Nickelback and ACDC and a range of stuff, I do like a Nice Tight bass, so I was thinking maybe 2 or 3 10s...
It has been ages since Ive been around Car Audio, Im hearing heaps more stuff like tuning Boxes now down to certain freq and stuff..
2 12's in the right tuned box give me that Tight Bass I like? was thinking Sealed Box...

Seriously forget multiple subs. Just get one really good sub and a proper enclosure and be done with it. One shit sub ,three shit subs , doesn't get better you've just got 3 times the amount of shit in your car now. One quality subwoofer will perform better in all aspects.

Magoos argument towards the 6x9's in the back is the whole purpose of a 6x9 speaker in the first place. Read up on them.
