Default In need of some guidance....

Hey all, looking into getting some 6/6.5 inch component speakers for the front of my car.

    Im looking at these.

    Sony XS-GTX1621S Car Speakers 6" - RYDA Car Audio($128.85)

    JBL GT5650C 6.5" Component Speakers - RYDA Car Audio($128.85)

Ryda Digital Superstore -Philips CSP550 6.5" Split Speakers($135.85)

JVC CS-FS60 Car Speakers 6" Split - RYDA Car Audio($137.85)

    Sound Master Car Audio - ($128) Kicker DS600.2 6inch Component Speakers DS6002

Just wanting to hear about experiences or opinions.

Also do all component speakers have crossovers?

    Thanks
    Will

Everyone has a different opinion on what speakers sound nice, just like with exhausts. You really need to go and listen to all of them and choose the one you like the most.

Yes all component systems include a crossover, unless you are purchasing the drivers separately which at your price range and setup style you wont be.

As said above, my opinion or someone else's on what a speaker sounds like isn't really much to go on. For instance i came home with an ipod dock today as part of a xmas present for someone, after reading peoples opinions online on what it sounded like. I though i'd carefully open it up and fire it up to just check that it all worked fine. (nothing worth than a DOA present)

Anyway's i was so dissapointed with the sound that i packed it up took it back and got a refund. Found another dock for the same price and to my ears it sounded much better, so in the end i went with it.

Point is i bought something based on what others had to say about it, rather than listening first hand for myself (it was really busy and noisy so i didn't bother to ask)

The speakers don't make the beeping noise, the head unit does, and on most head units the beeping can be dissabled if you refer to your owners manual.

Nope, some just come with a passive high pass filter that goes in-line with tweeter and the woofer plays full range. Most do come with a proper 2-way passive crossover though.

I haven't seen any speakers that just use caps on the tweeter other than factory stuff. How cheap are we talking?

Entry level models of most brands. For example; Pioneer TS-A1604C, Clarion SRE1721S, JVC CS-FS60.
