Default Is this a reasonable install price?

Hey, im wanting to get my Type r splits installed into the front doors and an amp installed with them, i was originally told $110 just for the speakers then for the speakers and amp i was told around 300, i wouldnt of thought an amp would cost an extra $190? does this seem like a rip off to you? this is from a local car audio shop near me, havent tried JB yet.
    thanks

The big price increase reflects the increase in work.

When replacing just the speakers to run off the head unit it is a straight swap. Now, however, they'll need to run RCA's from the head unit to the amp (and install a LOC if it is a stock HU), run speaker cable back from the amp (Which they have also had to mount somewhere) and into each door to run your speakers.

A lot more work, turns a ~1 hour job into a ~2-4 hour job all told, depending on the current state of your car.

Also keep in mind that car installs are always going to be expensive. That being said, $300 for a speaker and amp install with parts and labour seems pretty reasonable for Type R's as long as the amp is decent and they tune it as well.

I don't have any personal experience with those amps, but considering they rec retail for $230 for the 4x100w RMS (more info here) I'd say you're doing pretty well.
