It only happens when the car is in the on or started position
Did you run your power cable down the same side as your RCA cable?
no made sure i didnt do that
If a second earth made it better then check your first. Did you sand the paint back and ensure it was a good earth point? That way your bazillion max power wattage will sound fully hectic ulleh.
I did put this in all capitals, but it was auto-edited. So gay.
Sounds to me like an earth problem to.
Welcome to the internet where people have opinions that you might not like
Yeah iv tryed both earths and grinded the metal back as you cannot see it anyway because i have a coustom wall to hide the lpg tank they are both in good spots with great connection i do not know what the problem is now so not cool lol
yeah mate i have the same problem only ive kept the stock VY stereo but replaced all speakers and added 6x9s in the parcel shelf. getting the high pitched whistle only mine changes pitch to my rev's. i just tell ppl its my supercharger lol. i have been told that its most likely interference coz of my shitty stereo. hopefully wen i get my new one it goes away
Or the other option is run another earth cable straight from the battery
yeah mate mine used to change with the revs to that i fixed there was a plug that had come part out and was toutching metal fixed might help you lol
I have this same issue too. it started after I did the earthing fix to mu ECU wires on my VS. I earthed it right next to splitter (font speaker are sound stream components) started after I did that.

I have had my stereo for awhile now.. And I now I have the whining noise coming from the rear 6x9's that I fitted.
The amp that they are connected to has been there for ages, all I did was delete the rear door speakers and add 6x9's.
The noise is a whine that is in sync with my revs and I can also hear my blinker ahaha. But the whine comes and goes =\
Have you checked earths with a multimetre? Battery/amplifier/headunit/any other accessories?

Nah I haven't man.. But it was only when I hooked up the 6x9's to the amp... Didn't touch any earth or whatever
I have been told it is a common issue for people who put 6x9's into a commodore that didn't come standard with them
That information is incorrect.

That's not what I wanted to hear aha but if that's the case then I shall just re check all my work
It's also odd the noise is only coming from the reedy rear. Its the same volume no matter what volume the head deck is at

im running the stock H/U with front speakers into a LOC, then RCAs down to the amp and splitted for the front speakers (morel maximo 6) and sub (polk mm1040SVC) amp is a jaycar class AB 4x100WRMS
(AA-0453) with a knukonceptz 4G wiring kit
now ive earthed it to the bolt holding the seatbelt mechanism behind the passenger seat, which has been sanded back to bare metal, and i did a resistance check with the multimeter from ground screw terminal on amp to a unpainted screw hole in metal bodywork and got a reading of 0 Ohms, so no resistance
the RCAs have not been run anywhere near power cable of any type, and neither is the LOC
the whine shits me to tears sometimes and i cant figure out how to get rid of it, im thinking it could possible be because of the LOC, if anyone has any ideas or things or i could try let me know please
thanks all
ok i pulled my headunit out and found out that one of the splitters at the back of my headunit had come out partly so i untaped it and pushed it back in then put about 3 layers of elecy tape around the both spllitters and then around my rem for the short period where it has acces to my rcas coming from the back of the head unit stopped the whine yous might have the same problem if it is not the ground. hope this helps.
Mate, get rid of that Powervox to start with. If you are going to upgrade all of your system, upgrade that amp!
Also, standard speaker wires built in with the car are not that great for additional, more powerful equipment. Try running all new speaker cables. I had this same problem in my VX and ran new speaker cables and that noise was gone.
Powervox sell cheap "so called" powerful amps. To come across a good amp from them, is rare.

Wait, are all your joins only twisted together with tape wrapping them?
If they are, you should really join them with either a screw type joiner or solder them together and insulate them correctly (tape and cable ties if you dont have heat shrink wrap)
I have seen head units/speaker wires/looms go up in a puff of white smoke from wiring becoming exposed as the tape un-winds.
Back on topic, one of the work Subaru's (2007 Legacy) has the same issue, noise coming through speakers that is in time with the revs. From what i understand that sort of noise is nearly always caused by a bad earth somewhere in the car or a ground loop.
One thing to also check (for any others having issues) is the alternator. Bad earth on that, or a failing alternator can cause the noise.

mate the power vox works fine it has never had a problem and puts out plenty of power i have 2 900w subs running of one and a third sub and a set of 180w 6x9 running off that and they all sound great good enough for me and i have had it running for hours on end in 35 degree heat and it has been stone cold from my experience the people that say there shit have never used one. oh i have had this for about a year now.
I haven't used Hyundai Excel either but I know they're shit... Your argument is invalid.
6x9's and a sub? Crushing overdrive!!!!!
