trouble shooting with stereo in vt

can anyone help me i just took my working kenwood head unit out of my vr and putting it into the vt i just bought. i got the new plug to fit the vt, plugged it in and it doesnt work, i have power at the yellow wire but not at the orange/black when the ignition is on, the fuse is not blown. any ideas

a fuse is blown, or the wire isnt connected properly.

theres only one fuse for the radio isnt there. if so its not blown i tryed 2

theres 2 from memory, one for accesories, one for constant

that wont help, his accesory wire works, cigarette works on accesories. his constant wire isnt working

he said he has power at the yellow, all the HU's I'v done the yellow is the constant.

sorry i meant only 1 fuse for radio, there is 2 wires that have power normally, yellow i think for the stereo memory and orange/black for power. when i turn the key on i get power at the yellow wire but not the orange at the plug

And it dosnt get power when the key is off? (yellow wire)

it wont. commodores use orange/black for constant/memory, and yellow for accesory. aftermarket radios use yellow for constant and red for accesory.

none at all only at yellow when key is on accessories

sorry been so long since I did mine, I must have checked with a test light because my radio works lol
