Hey guys,
I was wondering what would be the best sub and amp combo? At a reasonable price,
Thanks a lot.
Round ones are pretty good?
OT; What's your budget/

Welcome to the internet where people have opinions that you might not like
sorry mate mines 5600
whats wrong with them i have heaps of bass and the 6x9s are clear as a bell so... im happy with it and it sounds smick
It's great that you're happy with it but you've pretty much bought the cheapest products you could get. He's asking for the best, not the cheapest.
We can't answer him anyway as he hasn't said if he wants it to sound musically accurate or as loud as possible. A budget would help too since you've said you have one.
Sweefu, I hope you liked that because it's humorous, not because it is a good recommendation. ahahahaha
To the OP, give us a budget or I'll recommend some $2k+ gear, I don't know how wealthy you are therefore I don't know your definition of "reasonable price".
And as Stone said, are you looking for loud noises (SPL) or accurate bass (SQ).
Mtx make some great subs
Sorry for little info, I'm looking for big bass and my price rage is around $800
Second hand Digital Designs Audio (DD) sub (~$400) + Option Audio OAK1200 (~$340) + wiring + box.
mate what bulshit max power ratings what evidence do you have to prove this??
i have no problems running my car audio system off one of these its good product for a great price also just wondering if you have ever used one??
Is this the Clarion subwoofer you speak of: Clarion Australia | WG3010?
Read the specs and tell me I'm wrong.
+Everyone knows Powervox amps are bad looking paper weights that are more likely to catch on fire than produce anywhere near their quoted power ratings.
And despite the fact that you didn't provide the brand of the 6x9s (my guess would be Alpine S or Sony), I can guarantee you that 300W is the bullshit max power ratings too.
But if you like the sound it produces, then good on ya. Just please don't recommend those products to others for the sake of their ears, money and cars.
nah its not that sub ill get the code tommorow and post it up and the 6x9s are pioneer but i have had clarion ones hooked up to it before aswell and hadf them running full pelt no problems i guess you need to hear it to beleve me but they make a nice clear sound with a shit load of bass i can walk up to the top of my street witch is about 4 house lengths and hear it still clear and thats with it not even up full so im happy with it and the guy at audio indulgence greenhills said that it was a great amp and that he never liked the powervoxes until he saw my set up so you can have your opinion and i will have mine lol no hard feelings
can i just ask if anybody has used one apart from me

40A of fuses...
14v x 40A = 560W if the amp was 100% efficient but amplifiers aren't 100% efficient. That would be a class A/B design amplifier which have a MAXIMUM possible efficiency of 78.5%.
Therefore 78.5% of 560W is 439.6W (109.9W/chan) which I think is still being very optimistic.
[edit]
Just for fun... If running the amp with the car off
12v x 40A = 480W x 78.5% = 376.8W (94.2W/chan)
94.2W is a little different to their claimed 1,400W per channel![]()
I even think that's a bit optimistic StoneX, maybe if you move the decimal point one spot to the left.![]()
fave brand by far is rockfordfosgate![]()
but i spent close to $250 on POWERPOV and KINGWOOD stuff recently to try something different in quality
list so far
owervox amp i think it says 5600x4 -$50
:2x kingwood sub 800w $33 each
:amp wiring kit for $11
:bought a decent fuse from SUPER EXPENSIVE $6
:6 kingwood 6x9s each 1000w 6 way speakers(parcel shelf, rear door, front door)$115 the lot
:10 metres of wire for $13
ive been pumping that shite loud for the past 3 months and its holding on untill it gets a loud double kick
and i do have half a rockford set at home , just dont have strong enough amps to power them![]()
stroking is fine but id rather be blown
the "POX" amp might do 70watts per channel, if you're lucky.
at least its not the 2 channel amp with a single 10amp fuse!
