Yep they will, some speakers may require you to trim the factory plastic pod sightly, though it's very simple. No worries.

alright, will they need new holes drilled aswell ?
Very dependant on your speaker, though probably.

alright, thanks for that
if i have any problems im sure il start a new thread on the issue :P
hey, just wondering the plastic that is on the door behind the interior, im not sure if my car has it but i have seen it on other cars, that just comes off before i deaden it?
Yep, that piece of plastic would have originally kept water and dust etc from getting in the door, if you are sealing your door with deadener there is no need to have the plastic there anymore.

Just make your own speaker baffles out of MDF and fibreglass if you have the time. Try to aim the mid woofers as on axis as possible. The sound quality of the setup will benefit.
Takes a lot of time and patience though, to get the angles correct and even on both sides. You could potentially end up with a worse result than the stock baffles if not done correctly.

Nic92 what speakers (splits of course) are you thinking of getting? I've been looking at the Vibe Space series. They look pretty good.
I have a set of Alpine type R's in the front and they sound really good and are bloody loud. However my friend has a set of Vibe lite air splits in the front (VX sedan) and they just sound better and still go as loud. Other friend has a Rodeo 98' model with Vibe Blackair splits and they sound beautiful, alot nicer than my type R's. The Blackairs produce amazing bass and could go way louder with a High pass filter, but he leaves it off.
Anyways just have a look at the space series and see what you think, they are vibes high end speaker Products | VIBE Audio
You can buy them fromn amazon http://www.amazon.com/Space-6-Inch-C...pd_sim_sbs_e_2
or Sonic Electronics VIBE Audio SPACE5 6.5" 3-Way Component Speakers (SPACE6)
thanks for the extra info but i already brought RE Audio XXX6.5c and i think i will use the stock baffles unless theres problems fitting them in there

i wanted to test them to make sure everything works, so i hooked the speakers up in my room to the h/u but the speakers are 2ohm so i had to wire in series into one channel and they only getting ~17rmsit should be ok il just keep the volume down.
havnt turned it on yet

the screw holes on my kicker grills match the ones on these re mids, so hopefully they fit without much modifications![]()
Nice!! Yea just trim up the factory pods. It wont be a problem. Do it all in one hit. Replace the speakers, dynamat doors, install new H/U, etc. That will take up a Saturday if you havent done it beforeHave fun!!
yeah, i havnt got the deadener yetso i was thinking of doing the speakers tomorro and have a look, because im sure it will take me a while to get to the factory tweeters and to undo the door trim

i brought another bulk pack of solavis supershield, i used my last one up in the boot and it worked out ok.. so im just waiting for it from Melbourne & im waiting for the facia, steering wheel controls etc, so i can't do the head unit yet, but at least now i can do the speakers, one less thing to worry about when i start my second year of tafe next week
what can i use to trim the door pods? isnt it plastic, don't really wanna break it lols

I used a bench belt sander to trim mine lol came up pretty good, just gotta be careful as it spins at about 3500 rpm haha but a half round file would work just take a bit longer, you can try cutting it out but when I originally did that to mine the flat spots hit the basket on the speaker, but the pods are only plastic so be careful
hmm yeah i might try sanding,
the tweeters i have dont have screws or screw holes, is there going to be a problem trying to fit these into the factory mounts? they mount a different way, im not sure how but i think your ment to put the tweeter in and then screw that metal ring up it from the inside :S
i can take pictures on what it looks like if you don't know what im talking about, (i just thought maybe most tweeters are screw ins?)
