hey everyone. just needed some advice with my sounds system.
I have a pioneer DEH-6350SD head unit link (DEH-6350SD CD Tuner with iPod Control, Front USB, SD and 3 Hi-Volt RCA Pre-outs - Pioneer Car Stereo - Digital Media Receiver)
And which im running a pair of fusion 6" 2-way speakers CS-FR6020 link (6) 210 WATT 40 RMS
a pair of fusion 6x9" 3 way speakers CS-FR6930 link (6 x 9) 260 WATT 75 RMS. that set up is in the car at the moment, but i have a little more money now and looking to put a sub and amp into the car for that extra edge.
so ive brought a 12" fusion subwoofer CS-SW120 link (12) 1000 WATT 250 RMS. this has been placed in a relatively nice ported enclosure by Aerpro SPB12.
i just got an amplifier as a present for my birthday; its a Sony xplod XM-GT2201D link (XM-GTR3301D : Xplod™ Amplifiers : Car & Marine Entertainment : Sony Australia which is a mono 1100 WATT max, rated 330@4 ohms.
So what i was wondering seeing as the amplifier will provide more than what the sub is rated at. will the subwoofer draw more power than it can handle and therefore break on me?
ANY ADVICE IS WELCOME AT THIS POINT AND PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK OF MY SYSTEM ON A BUDGET.
THANKS LUKE
no it wont as long as you set the gains right. it is always good to get an amplifier that has more watts than the subwoofer
