    Default Amp fuse blowing instantly

    Hey every one
i have a jvc KS-AX3104 amp and a Pioneer GM-2200 amp. it all worked well after wiring up and testing it all, i unplugged it and neatened it all plugged it all back in.
the fuse on the jvc blows instantly, and i cannot figure out why. i checked all the wires and they seem to be just fine. both amps are running of a power distribution block, and the main fuse is 60A and the other amp works just fine.

cannot figure out what is going on.

Have you unplugged all the speakers powered by the jvc and powered it up?

I had the KS-AX3002 on a sub. It kept blowing fuses because the DVC sub was wired (4ohm) but we suspect it was a a bad sub because we put it on a bigger 760w amp and it went into protection mode so we wired it 2ohm and it was algood.

IDk if any of this helps........

Unplug everything apart from the power wires and see if it works, if not you've screwed it (probably by shorting it).
If it still works, gradually add one speaker, RCA etc. (while off, of course) back into the amp until you get another blown fuse. Vooooola, you have your culprit.

there was at one point sparks when plugging in the power because my friend forgot to unplug the battery.
i tryed it without the speaker wires, no luck. the fuse blows as soon as the battery is connected

    Is the amp dead?

There shouldnt be sparks from the power wire when wiring it unless the REM wire is wired up and the key is on.

I would venture that the amp is buggered than.

I once tried to changed an amp fuse but forgot to unplug the battery. It sparked big time when the fuse made contact, but it blew all three fuses in the amp. Unplugged the battery, replaced all three and reattached battery, next minute boot was full of foul smelling smoke. Amp was fried. Also the smell lingers ####ing forever.

If the battery is hooked up when the positive wire is already in the amp and you plug the negative wire in, it will spark. If you do it in the reverse, it may spark. If you put the wires in the wrong holes it will spark like hell and fry the entire amp.

Moral is: Leave battery disconnected (at least the negative terminal) until you have finished playing with it.
