i need a good set of 6x9s that will take alot of beating,
ive had a set of jl audios that the tweeters blew up on me and a set of kickers that did the same thing,
what do you guys think would be a good option.. ill pay up to around the $350 mark
What were you running the previous speakers off? I'd find the cause of your problem before buying more, speakers should not blow up.

I think the VZ Calais parcel shelf had 6x9's, see if you can get one from the wreckers
I know you can get an adapter for them in a VX commodore, they just go right in.
Check out this thread.

"Youll have to cut the carpet/plastic...your Parcel shelf should already have a groove to follow.
And the metal underneath should just pop out use a hammer or fist lol...
Although I seen your other thread about subs, if you are going to get subs you
wont need 6x9's in ya shelf mate, some 2 ways in the rear doors will suffice.
although I would still put the holes in your shelf so the subs can port straight into the cabin "
6x9's in VY Parcel Shelf

Hey Guys, I was just looking @ the Vibe Splits, I like what I see..
Has anyone seen those over here or heard them Running?
My Vy SV8 had no speakers in parcel shelf, so cut the trim made some nice MDF 6x9 templates and just cut enough room for 5.1/4" for the rears.
Im not a fan of Back Door Speakers.

Alpine Type R SPR69C. Do it once, do it properly.
There probably other good speakers but I always use and recommend Alpine.
Welcome to the internet where people have opinions that you might not like
Sound stream FTW!!!!!!!
Just go to an car audio store, they will set you right. Just dont buy anything from repco or super cheap etc
My ride-VS commo, Just finishing the manual conversion. Working out those annoying bits!
ive got mb quart 6x9s and they sound like crap ,xplods probably sound better.
Yeh i hooked a xplod 6x9 up to my sub amp. went okay than it just stopped and smoke came out lol thats because I partially blew the other one though. they are fine if you just want sound, but they dont take a beating.

I don't care if you don't take my advice seriously. I was only giving my opinion. I couldn't care less if you went out and bought (example) Audioline speakers, they will be going to your car, not mine.
It's really a personal preference when choosing what sound system you want, some people like other brands more then others.
