Default Where do you buy your wiring from?

So, looking at doing a few amp installs in both my cars soon. But bugger me I'm not keen on paying $150+ for a wiring kit.

Where do you go to get your kits/ individual wires from?

I'm thinking jaycar... Is there any truth to all this oxygen free super mega twisted interwoven cable?

    Cheers

I've gotten every kit I've bought from super cheap - they're like $70.

Thanks for the link sweefu, have you bought from there before?

Also, thinking of going 4 gauge - or is that not necessary?

Welding cable is awful to work with, it's very stiff and hard to run through you car.

The wire from KnuKonceptz is awesome, I have bought some gear from them before and am about to order some 50' rolls. Really high quality, flexible cable. If you have a fairly basic install, their 4awg kit should be fine. Their RCA's are great quality, even the entry level items. What amplifiers are you running? This will help determine how big you will need to go.

EDIT: I should say, welders flex is great for current, but it's bad to work with. My 'big 3' upgrade is done in welders flex, because I didn't have to bend the cable much. Trying to get it through a beauty board and into an amplifier is crap.

And lets face it, you wont be able to buy the necessary length of welder flex, the ring terminals, the fuse block, and all the other stuff for under $100 anyway.

Sweet, where abouts are they? How much was shipping, how long did it take to come ,etc ?

Not sure what amps I'll be running yet as I havn't bought them. I figure 4AWG isn't too outrageous and will be more than enough for whatever I end up running. Either 2 4chs or a 4ch and a mono or something like that.

Nope, that's it. The low end CCA is only 10% copper but the 0awg still supports 250amp loads no worries.

They are in the US, shipping allow at least 2 weeks for the standard cheaper option, you can go express if you want. Really good product though, worth the wait. Go 4awg as a minimum, don't forget terminals and distribution blocks etc, their battery terminals are great too if you need.

    4 Gauge Amplifier Installation Kit

This looks like the go! Beats $180 for the equivalent kicker kit LOL.

Anyone know what they mean by "RCA Cable with Built in Turn On lead" ?

It means there is a remote cable run with the RCA cable.

You could get an Aerpro 4awg 4 channel wiring kit, the quality of the RCA will not be as good, even that kit will only be $10 - $20 cheaper than the KnuKonceptz.

Got to come a long way though, the product itself is cheap so it all works out the same. If you can spare the extra coin over an Aerpro kit I think it would be worth it, be different too.

I purchase all of my stuff from the same place sweefu does, I have used them for years an tons of installs.

    However, The last install... I Purchased 50ft Rolls of Red & Black 0Gauge. & 25ft of 4gauge.
Worked out cheaper for me in the long run.

    Cheers

This is what I am doing now, did you have the option to buy 50ft roll of 4awg?
