Hi Everyone, Rather than start a new thread i thought it would be better to just edit this one. changed the whole write-up.
BEFORE I START I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT INSTALLING OR AUDIO ONLY THE VERY BASICS IE; LOOK FOR RMS ETC
I have recently (last week) brought a 2004 VZ SV6 sedan and based in Blacktown area (Arndel Park) NSW. it is stock standard as far as i know, so now its time to upgrade the sound system. before moving onto Lowering, darker Tint and from there who knows.
i just relised today that the rear shelf has 2 Kenwood KW-M6932a 6'9" speakers but are not connected, would they have been added aftermarket or it that part of the Factory premium sound package? which didn't come with this car. there is evidence of soldering but there is no wires or anything there now other than the speakers themselves. is there a way i can tell if they still work? that won't cost me an arm and leg on my budget?
still have a $1500 MAX budget but prefer not to spend that much as its going to cost me $550 to lower the car (its only on 17" standards and i actually like them) so have now decided to try my best to get the best set-up with around $1000 MAX
THE PLAN:
*Leaving the single disc Blaupunkt Head unit as is, unless i can somehow get Phreddy (Greg) to reply and add some of his extras.
*Upgrade front speakers to something around $200 with 50+RMS per speaker but so many to choose from (suggestions?)
*Rear speakers disconnecting to connect the 6'9"s on the rear shelf (could i just connect the wires from the rear doors?)
*cheapest 4ch Amp roughly around 60+RMS per channel to connect front speakers and rear shelf 6'9"s
*around a 8-10" Roof mounted DVD player doesn't have to be a topline expensive one, prob around $400-$450
going to be a task for $1000 installed but see what i can do.
Overall, all i'm after is something that will have plenty of Bass at lower volume levels as sometimes have my 6yo daughter in the car, but will also have to be loud while she is not etc.
Prefer no Subwoofer though, need the boot space for work.
Everyone seems to say JB HI FI is really bad for installs but has anyone had an issue with the Blacktown store? what about Autobarn Blacktown?
any help would be appreciated!
Thanks Nathan.

Mobile Electronics AU | Articles | Affordable 6.5” Two Way Components Review
That is a list of all the best splits at an affordable price
I have the morel maximo 6 in my ute and they go great, even sounded like I had a sub in there before I put my sub in there, so they play relatively low
As for an amp, the jaycar response amp is $300 and puts out 100rms on 4 channels, I also have this amp running my morel and sub
As for running 6x9s and no sub, I'll let someone with more experience jump in and help you out there
Also to summarise, im running the factory h/u and my final setup cost was ~$1080
thanks mate, good link and helps alot..
looking at the review on those listed i might take Morel aswell. play them straight off the head unit. not ideal but they seem to have enough Bass even at the low levels of RMS the headunit puts out.
AMP seems good for its price, i might have to look up where my local Jaycar is, don't think i have seen one around Blacktown, maybe Parramatta or Penrith areas just hard to get too as i'm still a L plater as much as i hate it, even though i'm mid 20's never had a reason to get my licence until now, thankfully im over 25 so i don't need to do the 120 hours!
atm my man aim is figuring out if i can connect the 6'9" speakers on the back shelf in conjuction with the other speakers directly off the head unit? or even if the rear door speakers can be disconnected and the wires used to connect the 6'9"s? anyone know?
cheers Nathan.
