hey guys was moving around my amp today, and when i unplugged my amp one of the RCA leads little pointy thing snapped off inside the port and im unable to get it out.
anybody got any helpful ideas on how to get it out? since the amp wont work without it.
Cheers Dan.
open the amp...
push it back out...
I've had this happen? Can you grab it with long nose pliers from the outside? Otherwise maybe thread a little screw into it and pull it out.
drop of really good super glue on a wooden skewer. just make sure ya dont glue the piece in there haha
Solder a line of solder onto the edge of the broken piece, let it dry then pull it out.

looks like my only option in the glue one, its kind of like broken in half in there and cant get a hold of it with anything.
and i dont have a solder![]()
just noticed on my way home my subs weren't working at all, so when i got home i took the amp out and as i pulled the RCA cords out from the amp, it just snapped inside.
are all your amps and subs bolted down??
yup was bolted down, never have any movement, i have a boot install.
I see this quite often at work... Tight RCA socket and cheap RCAs usually. The ones I fix can all be pushed out from the back of the RCA socket inside the amp though.
yeah you cant get in behind the RCA port, was an Alpine amp with fusion RCA leads from my old audio setup.
fusion gear has proven to be super crap once again.
Ur sub's should have still worked with 1 unplugged & snapped RCA, Unless you are only running 1 sub on 1 channel not bridged?
If you are using say like a 2ch amp with 1 sub each channel 1 sub sould have been still working, Or even 1 sub bridged would have still been half working...
Was just thinking because you said 'just noticed on my way home my subs weren't working at all', Maby you're other good non broken RCA isent pluggeed in to the headunit?
so yeh should have still half worked, You're sub's shouldent both go out with 1 brken RCA...
Good Luck!
Unless he's using the sub-out pre-out from his headunit into a mono-block amp
#### knows the subs weren't working, i got jaycar audio, to put in a new rca thingy and works perfect.
I highly doubt Jaycar would replace an RCA socket for you... Yeah, they're normally called sockets...
Its a bit different to fixing an Alpine amp someone brings in though
I'd assume they just sent it out to get fixed.
Either that, or some random who works in the store fixed it... lol
How much was the repair?
how is it different? i took it in and he fixed it over night and cost me 42$
Yeah, I forgot it was an Alpine amp... Them fixing a product that they don't sell is not a normal thing that happens at Jaycar stores.
