Hay guys,
Pricing up a new system and just wanting any opinions you might have. The system is going to include
3x Alpine SWR-1223d type r 12" subs (1800w rms)
1x Kenwood KAC-910sd mono AMP 1800w rms
1x set of Alpine SPR-60c 6.5" component splits type r 110w rms for the front
1x set of Alpine SPR-69 type r 6x9 coaxial 2 way speakers 300w rms on the rear parcel shelf
keeping the stock rear door speakers
i already have a soundstream dvd H/U and just wanting to know if i have to run the speakers off another amp or if they can just be powered by the H/U
will listen to any opinions anyone has so dont hold back
cheers guys look forward to reading them
That monoblock is 900watts rms.
The Alpine subs are dual 2ohm, so you could wire the amp at 1.33ohms nominal, which should be ok, as Kenwood claim that monoblock to be 1ohm stable.
You'd definitely want an amp for the speakers if you plan to run three 12inch subs.
Might want to double check those 'wrms' ratings mate, also I haven't heard of that mono amp, can you please link me?
EDIT: Is the amp you are referring to the 9104?

Ah, that makes better sense.

I'd drop the 6X9's and put the money towards the front speakers. The SPX-17REF type X are a far better speaker than the type R. Just my 2 cents worth.
That's like $1,700 worth of audio. If I were to spend that kind of money(if I COULD spend that sort of money) My list would be ...
2x MB QUART ONX1.1500D CLASS-D MONOBLOCK - $340 each
2x PIONEER TS-W3002D2 12" CHAMPION PRO - $270 each
1x MB QUART ONX4.80 ONYX SERIES 4/3/2 CHANNEL 640W RMS CAR AMPLIFIER - $220
1x POLK AUDIO MM6501 6-1/2" MOBILE MONITOR - $300
$1,740 total. But that's just me. (all from the same eBay seller, all free postage)
I really can't see why you'd want 6x9's or three subs.
