    Default easy question

    putting my head unit in my VS and just need to know, i'm connecting it to my amp with rca cables, do i still need to connect the brown n tan n other speaker wires from the head unit or just the rca's. also there is already the cables from the old head unit there howerver the plug don't fit of course but can i simply attach the power and grownd etc from the new head unit to the existing cables or would it be better to run straight to battery and ground etc. cheers

    If you are planning on using an amp to power the speakers I wouldn’t bother running new wires to and from the battery as you won’t be using the amp built into the heat unit.

    If you are using an amp to power the speakers no u don’t need to connect the speaker wire outputs on the head unit. Just the RCA’s which run to the amp. Just wrap the extra wires up separately with electrical tape.
