hi all i need some help finding a replacement faceplate for a poineer deh 5500mp head unit cause i have no idea where to get one

if its only a few years old the company who made the head unit will still have replacements... however they tend to charge as much as a new head unit for one.

i was lucky with a sony head unit- i chucked a search on ebay and managed to find a brand new replacement for $15

You need a receit to prove the deck is yours.

The model he quoted is a US model, not sold in Australia. So even if Pioneer Australia's spare parts department could get it, they'd have to order one from Japan which can take 6 weeks.

that sounds like the go, have a talk to him and see what he says about it. also, check on ebay

i found one but the lcd display doesnt work is that expensive to fix or not

It depends, the 55xx models had a rubber conductive connector inside that would get dirty, so you'd lose segments of the LCD display. If you clean it with shellite or metho, it would sometimes fix it.
