Hey fellas,
The around 2 weeks ago i was fiddling with the car and i was putting in an air fuel gauge , so at some point i pulled the battery terminal off so i wouldn't shock myself jst to be on the safe side. anyways, after finishing the project and reconnecting the battery i found my stereo quite dull to say the least, sometimes you jst can't hear my sub... its like its not even there, but suhre enough you open the boot and its still going, but it seems to be doing nothing campared to what it used to be like... i have opened the sub box and from what i can see ( which isn't much considering i dont know what to look for ) it doesn't seem to be damaged, but im worries its my amp. no settings on the amp have changed, and the only thing that was reset was my h/u settings which are back to normal now, BUT things jst arn't the same... the bass jst isn't there...
can someone please give me some things to look at so i can try and fix this...
Cheers

sounds like a bad earth. check everything you were near and clean the battery terminals
Yeah, check earths and if you have a multimeter, check the resistance of the main power wire fuse for the amp.
Maybe your H/U has sub woofer level control and the default setting is low.... just a thought
Drive it
Like ya stole it!
once the battery is disconnected, all your head unit settings would have been defaulted. as said above, return your settings to the way you had it before you disconnected the battery and all should be well.
He has already said his head unit settings are back to how they used to be...Originally Posted by raZel
one thing just for those that dont like losin their settings, you can buy an adaptor that plugs into ciggy socket, and a 9v battery, supposed to keep settings, you could easily fashion one yourself. good for factory radio with code.
and id say bad earth, or you missed a setting, possibly bass boost?
battery connections. Thats where the problem made it self evident....thats the most likely place of problem. Check your power connections...can you wriggle anything on the terminal? If so, its not tight enough.
You put you left foot in, your put your right foot in , you take your left foot out and you slide it all about!
it can't be the battery, cos everything is working, all the speakers have power and so does the amp, h/u and sub. its jst sounds completely ****ed...and i dont know why...

razel...come on.....just because it is getting power, that doesn't mean it is getting enough.

Yep, check all of your relevant fuses, particularly the main amp fuse from your battery to amp, could be that a sudden surge when reconecting battery, blew a fuse, worth a try,

i had a similar problem, the fuse was intact and looked alright, i tried the fuse in a mates car and it worked fine... i ckecked the voltage befor the fuse and it was normal, 12v, then checked after the fuse and it read around halfOriginally Posted by kirkson
