has anyone made a parcel shelf i have figured i can just trace the parcel shelf out onto the mdf but i just need to know how to mount it into the brackets and the brake lght onto the parcel shelf???
thnx guys
cmon someone must have made one... i cant believe youre all still using stock parcel shelfs:b:
i doubt a flat shelf would fit very well. try fibreglassing the shelf. this should give you the strength you're after to support speakers without mounting to the existing metal frame under the shelf, and be a much more accurate fit than a timber shelf. this is, of course, assuming you want to put 6x9's in. if not, why not use/mod the metal speaker brackets to fit?
i had an mdf one made for my VN. had a nice raised volcano type part for the sub to sit in, only cost me $250 fitted. was very popular about 5-10 years ago.

Yeh thats what i did in my vk, turned out well.Originally Posted by wizza
I too want to make a new shelf, but will be difficult in a vs coz it isnt flat, and has seatbelt attached to it. The 6x9s I have are too thick to put in, the 6x9s that are already in there fit fine.
If someone has done this i wouldnt mind seeing it, although if i were to do it i'd probably do it my own way
just put 6" in so easy and won't matter if you plan to buy a sub
