Hi
I've just TEmp installed my Sony car cd player into my 81 VC, with the yellow wire connected to the battery "as indicated by the manual" red connected to my 12 v accessory feed on my fuse box, and the black connected to screw...
The CD player also came along with a 10 fuse in the back of it, but can be removed.
Atm I have the CD player sitting on the seat as a test before I install, but the back panel of the CD player is heating up after a few songs have been played and it's hot to touch! "CD only gets power when ignition is turned on"
Is it normal for my player to heat up like this?
It is if you play it loud.Originally Posted by Goon

Another Q..
Should i install a fuse between either of the 2 postive player wires "Yellow & Red" ??
Refer to the manual that came with it.
There may be no need if it has a fuse in the back of the unit.

Almost forgot to ask... sorry
Where to install the 2 front speakers, i seen pictures of speakrs installed at the front bottom of vh doors, but i'm not sure if there is any space on front vc doors.... "no electric windows"
They'll fit. Try 'em further back...Originally Posted by Goon
The speakers do fit - but only just. I've got a pair of 6" Pioneers in the bottom-front of the front doors in my VC (manual windows). I highly recommend you take some measurements with the window fully down prior to chopping out any metal because some brands may not fit.
spacers mate spacers
get some spacers out of a vr-vs they look good and they are cheap and there is heaps around
