hello hello... i'm looking at buying some Fusion FPS-653 6.5" 3 Way Speaker - 200W and was curious as to what the WRMS rating is likely to be on something like this... It's just that i plan in the near future to be running speakers off of an amp and want to know what the WRMS would be around for something with a 200W max rating or PMPO. I know you couldn't give an exact value, but surely there is a fairly basic general rule of thumb or ratio for converting max power to WRMS or at least to get a rough idea of what the WRMS is likely to be.
Thanks in advance!
Max ratings are usually made up, there is no exact formula to work out RMS from it. Sometimes max is twice RMS other times it is 4 times it.
I doubt there is an accurate way of working out the RMS from the max, my pioneer's are rated 260W and are only 40rms, my other pair is 180W, and 35rms.
You'd think there would be something to promote everyone advertising in RMS.
They will lose sales if they advertise in RMS... People think bigger watts means louder, so the marketing put the biggest number they can on the products so more people buy them.
I found this site that claims they are 100W rms. http://kandtsales.com/shop/product_p...rs&prod_id=569
I think that is a little excessive. I’m not sure if that site is a reputable site or not. I would run it on 50W rms if I was you.
