Default Car Phone INput on Pioneer Stereo???

Hi guys, I have just changed the headunit over in my VY Ute
(the original was crap) I have fitted my old Pioneer DEX-P88R along with my 4ch AMP Bridged to produce 70w X 2 into the Pioneer Splits Nooice sound sharp chrisp, bassy, simply 200% better than the factory setup.

Now my Head unit has the cell mute I noticed when I removed the original unit that the connection for the speaker (phone kit) is in the rear. Is it possible to connect it up to the front speaker? ie run a cable between the two connectors directly into the speaker cables, It should work....shouldn't it??

do you mean run a wire from the phone kit to the speaker, as well as a wire from the amp to the speaker??
