Question Replacing Front Speaker Covers in a VR

Does anyone know of a good way to replace the front door speaker covers in a VR? I hate those plastic ones with the horizontal grill lines. I haven't yet updated the front speakers because of lack of money atm.

Is there a easy DIY way to update the look of them? Say buy buying some speaker grill covers from AutoBarn or something?

Would it look strange if the stock speaker covers are missing, does it leave space around the speaker itself?
