    Default Amp To Battery..

Hey i'm trying to put my amp in, and i need to run it to the battery, howerver i can't find anyway of getting it to there. i can run it all the way to the dash no probs but getting it though from there is seeming imposible, there is no holes that can see and i've taken alot of it apart. the only other option i can think of is drilling a new hole which i don't really want to do, or running it under the car which is pretty dodgy. any help would be great cheers

I'd say you're best running it down the drivers side. If you have an auto, use the grommit where the clutch cable WOULD have been. Its a black oval looking rubber thing right near the steering column. Pry it off with a screwdriver (this takes force) and then poke a hole through the sound deadening stuff in the firewall for your cable to run through. Drill a hole in the grommit itself just smaller than the actual power cable, so when you run the cable through, it seals very tight. Then just thread about 2m of cable into the cabin (it comes out under your steering wheel, you cant miss it if you open the "door" that covers the fuses). Then just run it along the bottom of the drivers side, under the covers (dont know what its called exactly) and run it all the way to the boot. You need to remove the rear seats to do a good job on this. There is already existing wiring there, you cant miss it if you take the seats out.

    Good luck mate

The only reason that it's normally best to run down the drivers side, is so that the RCA cables can be run down the passengers side. Power and RCA signal cables shouldn't be run together.

there is also a grommet near the brake booster that i ran my cable through, it comes down in behind the fuse pannel inside the car, just poke a straightened out metal coathanger down there and youll see where it will come through, worked out good for me
