hey just wondering if any one can tell me if i have blown my deck, i forgot that i have the face on, and when removing the deck i didnt realise it was on and the rca's fell out the back, i heard a sound through the speakers and now it doesnt turn on. i have checked all the fues's they seam to be ok but the weird thing is there was all battery acid around the battery??????
any help would be good
nick.
The best way to test it is to take it out of the car and test it on a 12v supply or direct to a battery. Black to the negative and the red and yellow to the positive and see if it fires up. If not, it has a problem.
This will sound kind of dumb but did you actually turn it back on after re-installing it?
I recently pulled my CD player out. When I put it back in nothing happened…. I am so used to it just turning on automatically when I turn on the ignition I forgot I have to actually push the on button the first time I power it up. lol. I am a fool.
i did something simular . when i got my deck installed the power cables wernt tied up properly so i pulled it out and realised this and hooked it back up it then worked and i sparked it on the brakets and it blew so i sent it off and went 2 weeks with out a stereo i had for less then a week then once i went in they tested it and nothing was wrong with it to start with so knowing that i did something wrong when i sparked it i check the fuses under the steering wheel and had blown one so i replaced it and it worked i know at the time u cant find the problem but check everything it maybe something simple
Have you checked the inline fuse in the continuous power line (if it has one)?
Battery bubbling out can be a sign of a prolonged short. Maybe the RCAs somehow connected a live wire and earth as they fell.
Do as Stonex said to check the deck and if it works start looking carefully at all connection and fuses.
Never

the battery i think was bubbling out, should i replace it, or is it somthing different.
thanks,
Dude...your battery was bubbling out acid. I wouldn't be worried about your damn CD Player.
You put you left foot in, your put your right foot in , you take your left foot out and you slide it all about!
yere what he said ^^
i would be pulling the battery out and give you engine and good clean
your battery if prob rooted or not going to work as well (hold its charge) so i would get a new one and also check your power cables and fuses because you have had + and - touching so it would have blown something
when i touch my aux cables on my home sterio it turns off and i have to pull the power plug out and put it back in before i can turn the amp back on so check all the conbections and checlk all the wires
if the wire look like the have bubbles on the then they are rooted and you will have to run new wires from the fusebox/power
hope this helps and good luck mate
