5m is too short for a commodore, been there done that(in VT sedan)... Extending 2ga is not an easy task... Blowtorch and welding gloves to hold the cable.
6m is the safest option.
yeh, too much is better than not enough, especially when you run it from front to back and it stops just that bit too short
i think i got 8 or 9m when i did my VT. ran the cable all the way to the boot. had a bit extra. i ran my cable down the passenger side so it had to be a little longer.
5m made it from the battery, throught clutch grommet, down right hand side sill, under rear seat and only just got through boot access hole... Not long enough to connect to anything in the boot.
next question is why 0ga? Wank factor? C'mon dude, 0ga is for when you are running 4kwrms+

You put you left foot in, your put your right foot in , you take your left foot out and you slide it all about!
Well,
10" 3ways in front doors
10" 3ways in parcel shelf
2x12" Subs in boot
1x10" Sub in boot
Got another one of those amps on order.... Each of the 10" 3ways will be getting 380wrms each.... Gettind 2x800wrms Class D amps when i Get the subs....
Sooo how many RMS did you say 12voltking....
about 3000k RMS.....
Is 0 gauge overkill???

errrr thats gonna be loud i reckonhow r u fitting those speakers in the doors?? customs pods?
those 10"s are only rated at 100wrms. Not 380wrms Overkill no1Originally Posted by HoZy

You have nothing there for midranges. Just bass and treble. You've forgotten about the rest of the music. Overkill no3
Plus, overall....it's gonna sound like butt and you will be the laughing stock amongst other car audio buffs.Have fun.

I'd have to agree with 12Voltking. You have no midrange and you're using different size subs which will sound like crap. Buy a good sub that can play the full range of subbass rather than 2 that are going to sound like crap.
You definitely don't need 0ga wire. The 10" 3-ways will barely get over 100Wrms each (they won't handle anymore) and two Jaycar amps will be nearly 2000Wrms if you were playing constant bass.
Ahh yeh I forgot to include I'm still keeping my Pioneer 6.5" Crossovers
and 10" 3ways in front doors, not illegal if done correctly.

When I was putting my first stereo together, i had about 1000wrms of power. Regardless, i still ran 0gauge as i knew that i wanted to go crazy on the stereo later on down the track. (Never really got to that stage though as i moved away from the SPL scene and into SQ). My point is that if you beleive your gunna upgrade big time later on down the track, then i say go for it. If your gunna stick to what you've mentioned above, then it's not necessary.
And as for your speaker setup..... [copy past 12voltking and stoneX's posts]. :P
Planing for future upgrades makes sense, I ended up getting a fairly chunky cable for mine and it's going to be about 1100wrms. The cable is a 50mm2 cross-section which I think is somewhere between 1ga and 0ga. It's actually the power cable used in arc welders (I could get it damn cheap).
It's massive overkill for this installation, but further down the track...
