Speaker Hissing

Hey i just put in splits in my car and an amp and it was working fine for a few hours until i started getting i high pitched hissing which incresed as i accelerated. it sorta comes on and off every 20 min or so. i've been told it's to do with eather the alternator interfering or the position of the crossover for the splits being so close to the electronics. i'ts really frustrating so any help would be great plz.

Hey there, it may be a variety of things causing your "hissing" noise. It may be engine interference as you have been told or yes, electrical interference, if you are running an amp it is of utmost importance to note that your RCA cables are not running with your power cables.They must not run together as this causes interference. You can buy noise suppressors that should eliminate any problems you have with hissing due to engine interference. These are available at most electronics stores and your usual car accessories outlets.
