ok ill start with the amp.. I know a fair amount about car audio but this has me stumped the only thing icant put it down to is ive burnt out the power rails in the amp. Well here is whats wrong... All started months ago now amp well smelling like it was burning when i cranked it (its a fusion powerplaint 1404) so i stopped cranking it and eventually it kept cutting out. I put it down to over heating cause it w as summer and the amp itself wa REALLY hot. Eventually it stopped working. Tryed to have a play around with it didnt work. Im not getting any lights on on the amp ie no power or diagnotic light. I opened the amp up nothing seems to be burnt out. Any ideas as to what could be wrong??
Now to my subs.. they are pheonex gold, octain r woofers. The prob i have is that the tinsel lead (wire running from the cone to the connecter bit) these wires are starting to come away and brake. Where can i get new wires to solder in here??? if i cant get them any idea how much to get fixed????
Thanks alot
Michael
the issue isn't it in the power rails. It's in the output stage. The amp was being driven too hard hence why the tinsel leads are burning out.
You put you left foot in, your put your right foot in , you take your left foot out and you slide it all about!
whoops my bad so what can be done about this???
