not happy with stereo sound

I own a vs 96 ute and have a sony xplod drive.s hx head unit and 3way 200 watt pioneer door speakers installed, sounds good but i'm not happy.The sound feels tinny cause theres no thump in the rear.I'm green to stereo installs and don't know anything about amps and subs so i was wondering if any body could give me some advise as to what i need to do to get the thump behind me.
If i have posted this in the wrong spot forgive me as this is my first post of many....any advise would be greatfull cheers....

I had a VS V8 ute befoere this ride,

Splits in the front &
Put a 4 channel amp in. And drop a 12" sub in the space next to ya fuel tank.
It will make a huge difference and you will have a Doof Doof too

Good quality splits running off an amp will give you a bit of a thump. But if you want something that vibrates your mirrors so much you can’t see out of them you will need a sub.

i had my amp in my VS mounted under the passenger seat
