I've got a VN with 4 inch Soundstream 60watt rms picasso speakers in the dash, 460 peak watt Pioneer 6x9's and two 350 watt rms subs. The 6x9's and subs are both running off amps but im having alot of problems with the system cutting out. When i attempt to bridge the amp for the subs it cuts in and out and the same goes with the 6x9's. If i have both 6x9's running they cut out but with just 1 its fine. What would be the problem? I have had the system checked for grounding problems and im beginning to think i may need a capacitor or the copper wire may have burnt out somewhere.
I have 4 guage wire from the battery to a circuit breaker and then it splits to 6 guage from a distribution block which then runs to each amp.
what amps are you using and how is the system wired? you may be having amplifier load or thermal problems if all cable terminations are sound.
You don't need a capacitor. It will be a wiring problem or faulty amp.
You need to tell us what amp it is, how exactly it is wired, what model subs, and do you have a multimeter?
Your amp may not be bridgable ..
I swear i answered about the amps and speakers, like gave links and everything but its not here? Anyways i found the problem. I was using a Lightning Audio amp and an Alpine amp. The Alpine amp was faulty. Shoulda been the obvious problem considering its Alpine. Second time i've had problems with this amp! Had it replaced once with output problems and this time its just goin straight to the bin. Soundstream amp here i come...but first a trip to the bank.
