Alot of people use the Pioneer and are happy with it, I don't know anyone with Cadence subs so I can't comment.

I've tried several subs in my car and others. from my experience these are the best for their own reasons:

    Soundstream for best sound quality.
Pioneer for a good quality, reliable sub at affordable prices.
    Audiobahn for looks and appearance.
    DD subs for maximum bass.

Both are very good. Pioneer is the probably the best out of the Jap brands. My cuz has a 12" in his car and it thumps really good. Cadence are new to the market and are supposed to be f*#$n' awesome, but I don't yet know anyone who has one to testify. Up to you I guess mate...

    Hope that was sarcasm

My loud systems have always been for my own listening pleasure and never played in suburban areas where it would annoy people or attract attention. It gives car audio a bad name, just watch Today Tonight or ACA when they do their stories on "hoons".

they dont its just because they cant afford a good car to make themselves convinced they have bigger wangs. i deserve a flaming for that because i am not respecting peoples opinions, but i dont really give a ****... i have no respect for others who dont respect anyone else.

    haha.. this sounds familiar.. lmao
anyways.. it depends man.. i had a cheapy U.S Audio 12inch sub that went better than my mates 12inch JL Audio..

Now i have a 12 inch Pioneer, i tested it with my mates, exact same sub, different shape/size box and it sounded totally different..

The Box makes a BIG difference and the porthole, etc.. jus make sure u amp overpowers ur sub..
I wonder what those scales on the top right side of my posts do...

Stick with the best sounding one, don't choose by brand.

Why be different if the Pioneer sounds good?

they are both good brands. The pioneer has been around for years but Cadence came into the market awhile ago as well.

Cadence built a reputation based on pushing things passed the normality. In my honest opinion I think you will be very happy if you purhase the Cadence. I have worked with it many many times with always good results.

You said that the cadence seemed to "pump" a little harder so you will be heard from further away. In which case. I would suggest the pioneer. It will be nice and quite for you
You put you left foot in, your put your right foot in , you take your left foot out and you slide it all about!

the box make more difference than the brand of sub both are decent subs , even cheap subs in a great box can rock. the cheapass generic boxes can only sound so good ?
try a either sub in single reflex band pass box or a variation on that box.

a $100. sub can really hit hard in a proper box. also note 12in woofers aren't the best for tight fast bass, but can still hit pretty hard.

even I've got one by default in my commy but it's a model built for abuse from 2000 watts of power on it alone, also remember some amps aren't good at running a loose sounding sub. check the dampening factor of the amps running the subs. a low number will sound crappy when driving them hard, they'll sound muddy and slow.
ok I'm waffling on now, stop me 12v king..lol

    If you say so

What brand has the loudest car in the world? Pioneer. I would probably say Alpine has a sound quality advantage though, but there is still alot better than Alpine subs out there.
