hey there, i got my 12 inch c12d2 orion subs in my vp commodore, sound really good and the bass is unbelievable, but one prob, the boot rattles really, really bad and i sound like a ******** driving around. any help on how to stop the boot from rattling would be great. i have tried the double-sided sticky tape on tha number plate but didnt help much. cheers
get some sound deadenig for the boot lid or the whole boot
Which bit is doing the rattling? I've found even with my crappy 6x9's that my bumper actually rattles, and that's a VN sedan.
Gravity is proof that nature keeps getting us down.
You just need to find each rattle and stop whatever is moving from moving... Foam works wonders, but if you're using it externally, like on the rear of the number plate, make sure you get "closed cell" or in other words, waterproof foam, so that it won't store water and cause rust.
Deadener sheets will help but major rattles will need foam or something.
face the subs forward... worked for me

Facing the subs forward in a sedan shouldn't be done... There is no point, it just casues you to lose bass![]()
well i have more bass than i had before and its a lot clearer and "punchier", so i dont see your point...

Maybe you should test it again, your ears might be playing tricks on youUnless your subs are at the rear of the boot, they will be quieter facing forwards... It's just the physics of a sedan, they all do it, from my experience. ALL = VH, VL, VP, VR, VT, VX, EB Falcon, 98 Pulsar sedan, some 80's Bluebird.
Facing the subs forwards just makes the sound cluttered. Tried it before. Something about the sounds waves getting all mixed up and not being able to flow properly...something to do with physics. I know some people who have filled in or glued all the gaps in the actual boot lid to stop the vibrations...
Crossed over to the dark side...
try putting some ruber washers on your numberplate screws, apparently thats a pretty common rattle
