    Default hiding speakers

hey all, im sure this has been posted before but i cant seem to find it....

    my query is this:
i have a VR Calais and i just bought my headunit and i want to replace the stock speakers in the parcel shelf with a better quality set-up.

i want to, if possible, get the speakers hidden under the mesh of the current speakers. (make sense?)

has anyone successfully done this? if so, give me a run down on how, and what set-up you have.

    cheers!

    anyone else got ideas, tell!

hey mate i have pioneer 6inch (6.5 if picky, but no difference) 3-ways in my parcel shelf, they are easy as to install and sit right into the original holes, i'm guessing that all brands 6 inch speakers would fit straight in aswell. the speakers are excellent and u wouldnt know they were there (if it wasnt for the increased amount of noise and rattling the panels do). oh and the original wiring can be used u just have to put smaller terminals on, your choice.
Need some parts for my VH 253:
Green standard steering wheel...Green lower B-pillar covers.
Green sunglasses holder/lower dash bits...Air-con and assorted engine bay parts.
    PM with any info.

true but if you have some splits from the front once you have put your new splits in then its all good.
splits: more expensive, better SQ usually, harder to mount, sound is more focusable (better sound stage), bigger choice the more money you want to spend (eg: not many $800 coaxials around)
coaxial speakers: the reverse of the above.
