I am getting static coming through my front speakers ( only
when listening to radio, playing cd's crystal clear )
This static is there even when engine is off.
The front speakers are run straight from head unit ( no amp )
I also have 2 12 inch subs powered by an amplifier, and if i dissconnect the
amplifier power cable from the battery the radio reception is crystal clear?
I have tried a different antenna, made sure antenna has a good ground,
made sure power cable was not too close to speaker wires.
I even tried a different head unit but i can't get rid of this static.
Can anyone help me?
The problem is because of your amp and i would suggest that you don,t have the earth on your amp correct or you have a fault with your amp, check install guide for you amp or test with a test lead from earth the the case of your amp.
rfi, radio freqency interference mate im guessin, try new speaker cables , a earth with crimped lug.Originally Posted by VQ2STATO

it could also be that the wire behind the front speakers is touching the body of the car
i not to sure but i have heard that if you run your power supply for the amp and speaker wires together they can create static
Just a thought some please tell me im wrong bout this :b: :b: :b:
Power wires and speaker wires won't effect each other. Power wires can effect RCA's if they are too close though, as RCA's are a low voltage and induced noise will be more evident.
