Manual antenna controls?

i have manual antenna controls, so if i press the up it should go up.
but it doesnt.
does the wires coming from the button go throught to the h/u or the antenna? thanks

wiring may be the issue, but check fuses, relay etc first. is it the factory headunit?

can you hear the electric aerial motor turning? if so you'll need a new aerial mast. if not then the switch may be buggered.

if i didnt have a h/u on should the aerial go up and dwn still??

Im not too sure about your headunit. Most headunits will put the aerial up when the radio is on. So all it takes is to take the headunit out and test the wiring. If you know what colour wire is the antenna you can test if it goes up and down by touching a positive wire to it (maybe someone else with a bit more knowledge about the wiring can give me a hand with this explanation).
