Hey hey, does anyone have this amp? Or any info bout it. Googling was useless. I know that it ain't the best, please don't dig me for that... My pocket aint deep. So also, does anyone know how to feed wires neatly from the HU to the Amp without ripping up the floor covers in a VR commodore station wagon?
BTW who has used the Jaycar wiring kit? Was it a good kit?
the jaycar kit isn't exactly huge guage power wire and the RCA leads are not right angle (fir the vn-vt) users.
as for the amp i have zero idea. i have heard 12volt has had a bit of experience with boss gear.
if you are using smaller wire then you might be able to put it under the plastic things (memory blank, i cant remember what they are called) and run it that way. but usually if its easier to run the wire then it can (and will) fall out easier.
So u suggest skipping the kit and buyin up seperately? + did u mean runnin the wire under the side skirts for the carpeting?
I had the BA-4800 and it died withn 2 months..... Not a big fan of Boss gear
" Behold the turtle. He makes progress only when he sticks his neck out "
if u want somthing thats going 2 last and give u quality dont go and buy boss as it will pack up....its just a cheap and nasty brand!!! save ur money and go buy a clarion, kenwood, alpine, pioneer as wat u pay for is wat u get![]()
OMG I sead please don't post that. I know this bout the BOSS stuff. K?
Now, I'm in a dilema. I can't find the place where the wire is supposed to go from the battery to the ****pit. Same for the back seats between the side infront o' the back seats to the rear. PLEASE HELP HERE!!!. What do I do here. Any help will be thanked for.
so will you give him the extra $$ for the other brands you mentioned?Originally Posted by SUSPECT
but as for what the hell you are talking about now i have no idea what you mean.....![]()
k okok. (one step at a time)
How do I feed the wire for the amp up through the car all the way from the front of the car (battery section for power) to the back. I figured the wires go under those side skirts, but I can't figure how you get the wires from the battery, through the engine bay and then through into the cabin. (ma sa noob). How do I do that?
Cheers all.
Maybe to get the wire into the engine bay, you could feed the wire through your pedals to the engine bay?.
I checkd all that stuff, there are more wires in their than in hell its self. I found in the engine bay their is a wire thing that feeds all the wires from the fuse box in the engine bay into the cabin. It has this rubber cover to seal it or sumfin. I cannot remove it for anything (I even asked it if it wanted a $100 piece of chocolate and it still didn't budge![]()
joke). I'm so stuck at this point. The pedals all use the same sealed hole between the cabin and engine bay I reackon. Can anyone help with this?

First thing... DON'T PUT WIRES OR ANYTHING ELSE NEAR YOUR PEDALS! You have to either be asleep or f..king stupid to do that, it's dangerous! One day your driving along and one of the wires snags the accelerator pedal. You lift your foot up to put on the brake cause lets say your coming up to an intersection but you notice you're still accelerating... imagine what happens next? It's happened before to some people. Besides which, it's illegal to have wires or obstructions near the pedals so if Sergeant Ritchie gets his torch to have a gander at your fabulous wiring near your pedals, he'll be very amused.
A bit of advice mate, if you don't feel comfortable doing something like this, I highly recommend you don't continue with it. Car audio jobs can be tricky at times and what your asking is simple but in order to show you and explain it properly, I'd have to be there with you to do it. It's best you go see a friend who has done a few car audio jobs or see a installer at Strathfield or JB Hi-Fi or find books about how to install car audio systems (some can be fairly in-depth).
From what I'm reading... I don't know why you're looking at the fuse box...
Because I don't want to spend hours explaining everything, watch this video:
http://www.crutchfieldadvisor.com/le...tml?format=wmv
I take it with a pinch of salt cause it's very general when installing an amp. With the fuse at the +ve battery terminal, it'll most likely look different to their setup, I hardly see the normal blade fuses in a harness these days. So follow those instructions if you feel confident you can do the job. If you have any doubt, again, go see someone that can teach you personally.
Here's a site that has a wealth of informaton:

Teh fasty one. Yeah man I get the drift with the wiring around the pedals, If anything, everything would be put netaly under carpets outa harms way. Cheers. I seen that video already, got me on the right track.
I was thinkin to go see a dude down at strathies. Least someone's backed that idea.
Cheers 4 that.
feed the power through the clutch gromet or if your cars a manual then put it through the ecu loom gromet. just be careful with the thing you are widening the ecu gromet; very easy to cut a wire or 2.
then run it under the carpet and under the rear seats.
really it aint that hard but if you want to waste your money by paying for someone to do it for you, i am just glad it isnt my couple of hundred being thrown away.
take your time and do this properly.
1. Fuse your amp 4/8 gage wiring no more than 30cm from the battery
2. From the engine bay, go through the clutch or ECU grommmet
3. Along the top of your pedal box/fuse panel in the cabin (there is plenty of spaces to cable tie it safely and securly)
4. Down the drivers kick panel (cable tieing)
5. Along the side skits (In the clips)
6. Remove your back seats (search this fourm)
7. Feed cable through the cable holes
8. Seats back on
9. Install amp (fuse again if paranoid..i did)
10. RCA leads go the opposite way (down passenger side doors)
11. Along botton of glove compartment
12. Down left kick panel
13. Along skirting
14. Through seats (when removed)
15. Into amp
Make sure your RCA leads have a remote amp trigger and it is installed. If you dont know what this is you may want to get the basics of car audio under control first.
PM me if in REAL strife.
aZK.
Cheers fellas. Thats the stuf I'm lookin for
I'll give it a try soon...
Cheers again.
Right, got it done with me dad and all. Took a while did it nice an sturdy. All souns awsome. BUT. The subs is wratling the crap outa the car. Every rattle that could be, is. Any ideas on how to stop em.
Well... there are a few threads floating around about sound deadening cars and putting in sealant into parts of the car that are prone to rattle (doors, boot, spoiler, etc...)
The search button is your friend.
Don't forget to locate the vents that lead outside and and put some sticky foam on the flaps...they make more noise then people realise.
You put you left foot in, your put your right foot in , you take your left foot out and you slide it all about!
Cheers guys. Been workin on this thing of 'deadinig' the rattles. All is going well. The only thing that I can hear rattle in my car now, after a certain medium loudness mind you, is the roof. The actuall roof metal its self. I push down with my fingers (not hard) and then it disappears until I let go of it. Any ideas? I'm so stuck as how to fix that...
0= Easy
10 = Hardest
I give the roof about a 6! You need to pull the carpet down and afix sound deadening mat to the roof and make sure you stop the struts from rattling as well then reglue the carpet to the sound deadening material. It's not difficult, just itm consuming mainly. Hella annoying too....

ha ha gotta love wagons fo the rattles. my roof rattles like a so and so.. push on it, it stops. Im going to sound deaden my my roof and re-do my hood lining in the next month or so. hopefully that fixes it. Also im going to shove some expanda foam in the roof suport things cause i know they are rattling.
Im running a BOSS 4600 (i think) 4 channel amp cause i blew my fusion amp up. it PUMPS my 2 12 inch pheonix gold octaine r woofers and my focal 6.5 inch 2 way splits. Goes hard and never misses a beat. I recommend them to anyone needing a cheap amp. When i get my fusion amp fixed then ill be using it as a second amp for speakers.
Michael
Haha gotta looove wagons. Right on man.
Im my car, the roof is a 8/10. seriously. So this is what I do?
1. Buy the dampening material from some store (thick/ thin?)
2. Pull of the ceiling
3. put in the foam for support on some struts that I'll find l8er
4. Glue the dampening stuff to the ceiling. While its drying support it with something from beneath for a good strong glueing job.
5. Then restick the ceiling on?
6. Admire the job and get high on the glue fumes.![]()
faaark that!
only one thing that i might consider doing is paying someone else to do it. thats why you were around 12volt?![]()
not quite...this is how you do it...(I can't believe I'm typing like this)
remove the lining. Buy the sound deadener (Buy stuff that has adhesive already on it)
Stick in place.
DO NOT add expanding foam into the roof struts. (This stuff expands right? Well, if you leave it nowhere to expand to it buckles the metal)
Add glue onto the top of the sound deadener wait until half dry then re-apply carpet.
You put you left foot in, your put your right foot in , you take your left foot out and you slide it all about!
yeah i thought about that.. hmmm wont it jsut come out the sides etc..
