i recently had a mate to install some rear speakers in my vp for me. all worked out GREAT, ran perfect fora few weeks until i went over a speed bump and the sound stopped coming out. it continually comes back on and off with bumps and turns but pretty much stays off now.
i took out the HU but all the wires SEEMED fine, but i dont really know wat im looking for.
this is turning out to be a real headache, if theres a simple answer to the problem it wuld be great. im fearing the HU is faulty or sumthn now :b:
thx
is it just the rear speakers that cut out? could be a dodgy connection at that end
probally should solder connections.. sounds like there comming loose as jack said

all the speakers stop, its odd that all cut out at the same time. oh well i think i may aswell just let a auto electrition take a look
one of the wires or speaker terminals is shorting out against the body of the car. This sends the headunit into speaker protection mode. Essentially your mate ****ed up. Make him fix the issue by isolating all bare wires better yet, insulate all bare wires. Then smack him about the head a few times and tell him to be thankful that your HU was reasonable enough to have speaker protection. Many of the cheaper models don't and would've have destroyed the internal amplifier.
Your lucky.
You put you left foot in, your put your right foot in , you take your left foot out and you slide it all about!
