hello everyone,
Just got a few questions about adding a sub into a vz ute behind the seats. Has any1 successfully put a sub box behind their seat that still allows full travel of the seat? If so put up some pics and dimensions if you have them.
a few more![]()
Currently I have blaupunkt 6 stack with 2 channel amp running a pair of alpine splits. How am I gonna go about wiring up an additional amp and sub? Do the rca's for the new amp come from the existing amp or the h/u? Can I use the same power cable for both amps?
Thanks for reading
to the search-mobile robin!
the search mobile is in for repairs at the moment, any other suggestions?
ok well if you cant use the search function of the forum then how can you make a sub box?
search the forum and ask the people who have made the box how it fits and every thing.
alsao your box will need to be a different volume because your sub will be different to theirs.
have tried search but couldnt find my answer. Lets face it, if every1 used search there almost would be no new posts in here and no one is forcing you to read this so could you please kindly **** OFF.Originally Posted by garfa

yes so sorry.
to build a box that doesn't limit travel you will need a custom box that is either complex to build or use smaller subs.
The pre-made fibreglass boxes I checked out were small expensive and looked like they limited the seat movement. not to say you couldn't do it as I reckon I could fibreglass in a 10" into around 22L without effecting seat travel. look into the pioneer slim line subs. only thing is they require 22.6L box which is quit large and would still require a custom box.
if your building it yourself get a tape measure and see what you can build to fit. if you can't do this then go to a shop that can.
to run an amp you need low level outputs. I used phreddy's kit on the blaupunkt 6 stack and it works a charm.
Here are some pics.
Another, These are fiberglass.

cheers for the replies. I am building one of these![]()

sweet. Ive been trying to get hold of the person who posted that. I found it on another forum(cant remember which one)
Mate, could u recommend a sub that works well in this box? as it is small in volume.
Good design, I measured it all up in my ute and it will fit very nicely.
Sorry, as I also stole it from another forum as well.(LS1.com.au)
I'll do a search to find what sub went in it.

ahhh yep, thats the post i got the pic from.
Cheers mate
Does anyone know if the Pioneer 12" Shallow sub would work well in one of those sub boxes in post # 11???![]()
From that design.
No
As 12" is 304.800 mm
The box is just over 11" (290.000 mm)
To make 12" subs fit.
Just increase the angle of the box.
But in doing this you may lose some leg room (less back travel in seat setup).

Any idea what thats worth? Im thinking of just putting my sub next to fuel tank now.....
another option is half tube speaker, they fit in the tightest spaces.
custom built , I designed them years ago for my toyota 4x4 convetible truck
I made a custom box to fit a Pioneer 12". It fits in under the tray next to the fuel tank. Takes a bit of tinkering and had just enough volume for the sub. Sounds pretty good and keeps the space behind the seats free.
same i got a pinoneer 12 inch under the tray on my vy ute. best way to go i rekon
jokes..ahahaha i get jokes
