basically my amp went into protection mode.. after aoutt 3 minutes of running a sub (fusion 1404 powerplant) my headunit was still going play music out the front splits like it should.. I turned the ignition off and then turned it back on.. Then my head unit poo poo itself an i fryed a track on it. I soldered it back up but still no go. Im not to worried abou that thou. I then moved back down to the amp.. With only the power earth and remote wire in it wont work.. its just sitting in protection mode; ive been using a direct 12v source for the trigger as the hu is sitting in piece of the bench. Any help would greatly be apprecitated
poo poo..... awsome havent heard that in a long time lol
If the amp is not powering up then check fuses, should be some on the amp and an in line on the +cable
also 12v through the trigger may be too much im not to sure.
12v too much for the trigger. itll be fine, dont worry about that
ok, but the fuses would be my first port of call, failing that, check connections and test power going into amp. other than this i think it may be a pro's job.Originally Posted by semi

good luck.
fuese are good.. ill buy a multimeter next week and giv eit a go.
have you tried unplugging the speaker wires and trying to get the amp to turn on? thats if theres any visual sign that its on
sounds like you might have fried the amps internal power supply. i did exactly the same to one of my amps a few years ago
Drive it
Like ya stole it!
unplug the rca cables, and speaker wires , check for the protection mode power light , should be the power LED but it changes colour when in protection mode
you should have 12v on remote wire
12v on battery +
and 12v showing when you use the ground wire and battery + using a volt meter of course
your amp can shut down it it sees a floating ground thru the RCA cables or shorted tensel leads on subby or blow voice coil on speakers.
another good one is having a screw go thru one of the rca cables under the carpet, it can blow the amp fuse or put in into protection mode.
what brand of amp is it ?
