Hi, i have an 03 Vy, just wanting to get some better bass through the system, i have some pioneer 6x9's and i want to put them on the parcel shelf? its only an executive so it does not have speakers up there yet but i can see in the boot that there is some metal panels i can remove to put them there. will this work? and will i have to wire from the rear door speakers back or are there active wires already there?
thanks, jake.
Factory system wont support the "extra speakers"
You'd be better getting some decent 3-way speakers to fit the door pods.. much neater.
Driving a CURSED WH V6.
what about using rear door speaker wiring to support the 6x9s? i dont mind loosing the rear door speakers, or running them in unicent to the 6x9s? would wiring be easy to move to the parcel shelf?
You cant run them in unicent, fact is the 6x9's will sound crap. They will be really underpowered from the stock H/U without an amp, and you will have to go to a lot of trouble to fit them to the parcel shelf. Like mattman said just get some decent coax's in the rear doors, If you want it sounding even better get some splits in the front, but the fact is, without an aftermarket H/U and amp you are not going to get exeptional bass.
Replacing the door speakers will be a bit tricky so if your unsure do some searches.
