Default Best set up for wagon

Hey guys, im just starting out in the audio area of my Vn wagon statesman, dont know to much about steroes and stuff and was just after sum help,
I was going to run a set of splits up front with 4inch speakers in the door,
    6x9s out the back,

what would be the best sub set up? twin 12s or15s?
also would i need an amp to run the subs, the subs and the speakers, or separate amps for each?
Also forget to mention, head unit is Clarion. Dont know what model but it came out of Brand new subaru WRX

Sorry for so many questions but i really do need some help.
    THANKS

4 inch splits? 6x9s? and twin 12 or 15s? mate thats the wierdest setup i have heard of in a while. you will really have **** all mid-range just very bright highs and overly loud lower end.
why not go for some 6inch splits (or 3way splits: 1 inch, 3 inch and a 8/6 inch woofer)? then add in some 6 inch for rear fil and ONE good quality sub?
    will the speakers be amped?
how many preouts does this deck have? stock units usually dont offer many if any outs.

skip the 4"ers and get some VS doorpods so you can mouns 6.5" splits then go for maybe something in the boot area (some 6.5 two or thee ways) and let a good ported 12 do the rest?
attn Über geeks, i play Second life. Patrio Graysmark.

I prefer the sound of 12 inch subs over 15's.....bigger subs tend to lose sound quality.

I got a similar setup to this exept it has a single 12" for the sub and 4" coaxs in the dash. Sounds ok but your right needs some more high range. So later on might do some 6" splits in the front doors.

wouldn't that make it a caprice? anyway
i would run vr/vs door pods in the front doors
then in the pods i would run some nice 6-6.5" splits
then i would get some splits for the rear doors and just make a hole for them
then i would run 4 15" subs and amps in a custom made box
but i am a bass nut and would love a wgn so so much so i could run lots of big subs

but if you only want a nice system i would go and get a nice 12" sub in a box and mount it in the rear behind the seat
