hey guys,
just wondering if 6 1/2 inch clarion speakers will fit in the door holes in a VT wagon.
just bought some 180w clarrion SRR1616 speakers and am hoping that they fit.
i asked the guy at Autobarn and he said they will go straight in.
yup
sure will
mate do a search.
they might or might not.
my 6.5inch alpines needed a new pod to be made of mdf. and then my naka's needed the pod enlarged even more.
you will probably need to do some cutting but you can never really tell how much.
clairons will fit no probs
some spkrs are bit bigger then 6.5 so some mods like door mdf spaces are needed or some plastic shaved off but clarions will go straight in
normally cheep no name brands wont
pioneer 6.5 with the tri hole as found in the stock mounting brackets, love it ^_^
attn Über geeks, i play Second life. Patrio Graysmark.
really i would have thought it the other way around.Originally Posted by daron.
name brand tent to be simialer sizes
no name brands are all over the place
ie sony 6x9 is similar to kenwood 6x9
but brands that look like sonly (dna) are way off the size marks but look the same as sony and packaged the same logos are same but they shit
yes and they usually have small baskets and as a consequence are easier to mount.
if i had to rate ease of speaker installation it would be something like this (easiest to hardest): cheaper brands (boss for one), normal brands (sony, alpine, clarion) and then nakamichi and i am assuming other more expensive brands. the more expensive brands (nak, MB and boston (i know its not many, but i dont work in the car audio industry)) and espicially there "flagship" models, i have seen have larger baskets, that extend rapidly from the mounting flange to the magnet to allow better permormance and as a result are hard er to mount.
to be honest the way I have seen it is a case of the POPULAR brands fit with ease...the non-popular brands are just plain arseholes.
You put you left foot in, your put your right foot in , you take your left foot out and you slide it all about!
cheep ones tend to be deep also and dont fit into lots places

Lets work as a TEAM and do it MY WAY!!![]()
dejavu im sure i said that somewhere at the begining
and that wasn't what I said at all.
Nakamichi is one of the top brands but it isn't popular (I guess the price tag has something to do with that) and it is a pain in the arse to fit. Especially the HU as they have an external power supply that you also have to mount.

well why would any ricer want a set of splits that are worth more than their bodykit!
