    Default bad noise

the other day i turned on my car and i was getting a bad whining noise from the stereo in the background, i can still here the music just fine. the sound wasen't there when i last turned the car on which was only like half hour before. i can hear it on both cd and radio but the thing is when i put my foot down the whine gets more high pitched. when i really turn up the stereo it downs out the whine which leads me to think that its a car problem not the stereo, like something thats blocking engine noise is playing up. so should i take it to my mechanic or the guy that installed my stereo? any ideas?

sounds like it could be a bad earth from the amp,i would take it back 2 where you got the stereo done and tell them you want it fixed

    What equipment are you using?

If someone else installed it, take it back and get them to fix it.

i had this exact same problem with my vh. ive put in 100 os stereos and ive never had this problem but the stereo i put in my car does it. i was so pissed but i took the time to look at it due to the car being off the road atm.

ok then its only the amp if its coming from the speakers that are hooked up to it. if you only have subs hooked up to it and the noise is coming through your speakers its not the amp earth.

test your rca's if there loose in the back of the head unit thats can be a cause.

try re earthing the head unit to a new point so its clean the wire is as short as possible and there is nothing else earthed to it.

    check the antenna earth.

check the power wires for the unit arnt running to close to the engine.

and if all of that fails then u have a real problem.

but your best bet is then to buy a noise supressor.

i hope this helpped a lil

i ended up spending about 15 mins just checking all the wires and connections best i could with out pulling the car apart. it ended up being one of the rcas had become loose at the amp, problay should have checked this before posting a thread but you get that.

thanks for the help and advice.
